Three weeks after initiation of the cleaning of the Upper Stream of the Coonoor River, we at Clean Coonoor are happy to state that we are halfway there.

A nearly 350 metre stretch extending from the Coonoor Bridge to MGR Nagar is now free of silt and debris to the tune of around 5 kilo tonnes.


We take this opportunity to thank all who believed that we could, and that is the reason as to why we have progressed to this extent. 


All that remains to complete is a small bit of around 300 metres.

We expect to complete the operations in another 10 days or so, before moving downstream into the main river after the monsoon. 

Our Solid Waste Management Activities have safely disposed 12,000 metric tons of Municipal Solid Waste, a savings of 5900 tons of CO2 emissions equivalent as of April 2024
